What is Womanity? Every year, Woman as Hero organizes one of the nation's largest student-led and student-run feminist leadership conferences in the country. It is a space for people of all genders to commit their talents, passions, beliefs, and interests to changing their communities and influencing systemic change.
During this conference we will discuss social or political issues and ways to engage in various forms of activism. The conference will include exploring current or historical events, culture, art and media, philosophy, social media, and a variety of other topics. All sessions will be student-designed and student-led. The schedule for the event is as follows:
11am-noon

Youth Activism and Social Transformation with a panel of youth activists
Community Organizing: Strategies, Goals, and Perspectives with Gabrielle Honda

1:15-2:45: LUNCH
Lunch this year will be provided by Jimmy Johns.
2:45-3:45: Block 2
Humanitarian Aid in the Borderlands with Ana Sanchez
Diversity of Tactics and the Slow Escalation Model (please arrive for this panel at 2:40, and be aware this panel will run into passing/small group discussion time) with Falen Leyba and Felina Rodriguez
Multiethnic Resistance: Mapping Mixed Race Feminisms with Carolina Marques de Mesquita
